Good morning Dominic Just a little note to let you know that it was indeed the
relay module that was defective. After installing it and priming the fuel system
the rover started right up and is running like a charm. Now I would like to know
if you have a rear latch/lock assy for the interior of the rear door assy. Mine
has a couple of broken springs and when you lock the door it is impossible to
reopen the rear door without dissembling the door covering and manually lifting
the mechanism. Let me know. Thanks in advance Peter Pierre Lariviere

My series 88
Hi Dom; I just wanted to give you an update - the Rover has been great since I
got it back! The only issue I'm having is that the new inlet manifold you put on
is leaking - it seems like someone tried to repair it and that has failed. Do
you have any that aren't cracked or my old one still? Since it was in good
shape, I'd rather get it tapped for the booster hose if possible. Thanks, Mike

Autologic Diagnostics Land Rover Software License
Dear Sir/Madam:
I very much support the initiative that Land Rover Salvage should have an Autologic diagnostic system. Dominic and the rest of the staff at Land Rover Salvage have proven themselves to be honest, helpful, and an indispensable aid to me. I have taken several vehicles to Land Rover Salvage over the years and have always been very happy with the results.
With Land Rover's dealers located only in major city centres, there is a genuine need for smaller shops like Land Rover Salvage to have access to the same diagnostic equipment as the dealers have.
This helps owners in smaller communities keep their vehicles maintained to a safe and serviceable level.
Sincerely,
- Andrew Clarke.

Wow, so much for "factory technicians" at my local dealership. Thanks for the
tip.

Ed that idle is way to low - it should be set at <> 1100 rpm, go to the throttle plate and turn the black adjuster on the cable500 rpm is not enough for the torque converter to drive the transmission oil pump and can wreck the transmissionWhoever set it at that needs re-education!DomThanks for the update. At a 500 rpm idle, the light comes on when the engine is hot. The light goes out once the rpms start going above ~750. Ed

Discovery information needed
Hello there! My name is Brandon, and I am writing to you in regards to getting a
little information about the Discovery.
Before I go on, I must say I was surprised and glad to have found your site! You
folks seem to be the be-all end-all when it comes to anything Land Rover in
Ontario, and that allowed me to breath a sigh of relief! Glad to see other Land
Rover enthusiasts out there!
I've been looking to get into a Series 1 Discovery for quite some time, and have looked at a few over the years. But I've heard conflicting reports about what I should be looking out for, and what I should run away from. I've been an avid Volvo driver, but since they're terrible in the snow, I'm looking to get into something that wont spend more time going backwards rather than forwards in the winter time! Should I be looking more at the newer Series 2 or am I alright looking for a well kept Series 1? Any information you could provide me would be great!
Thanks in advance for your time! Happy Canada Day! Sincerely, Brandon Kosarow

Endorsement from Vancouver Island, BC
Good morning, Dom: I had tried to log in to leave a testimonial. but got stuck
in a loop. Here it is in E-mail if it helps (cut and paste where you need it).
When my '71 Series 2a blew a transmission while green laning, it was quite
difficult to find someone who had the specific parts to carry out repairs. Then,
quite accidentally, I came across Land Rover Salvage/Global British Inc.. Dom
had the items I required and when I had unforeseen problem emerge, he was fast,
precise and efficient with a resolution. My Rover has been back on the road for
a year now, in regular daily use with not the slightest worry. Thanks again to a
knowledgeable and friendly crew at L.R.Salvage/Global British Inc. Richard Cox

excerpt:
We stopped at one near Arden, getting out of the Land Rover just before torrential rain started falling; we took refuge under the stand’s awning while munching on homemade tarts.
It was odd to be welcomed with a hearty “Morning, y’all” – the student who normally worked the stand was off with an injury and so a family friend had driven up from Tennessee to handle the berry season. The blueberry tarts were good enough that we bought some lemon ones for dessert.
Near Madoc, we stopped and turned around to pose the LR2 in front of Land Rover Salvage. It was closed for the weekend, but I called owner Dominic Perodeau a few days later.
Born in England, Perodeau brought his Land Rover with him when he moved to Canada, but had difficulty finding parts. Locating a few for his own use led to so many that he started selling them.
“The business started in 2003, when I bought an old GM dealership in town, and then I built a big shop at my house and ran it out of there,” he says. “It then grew out of the house, literally, and in 2007 I bought this property.”
“I can even supply new parts cheaper than dealers, because I get them right from the U.K.”
I started poking around some of the older vehicles out front, until the rain started up again, and we went back on the highway.
It’s still a fairly well-travelled route, especially if you’re going from Ottawa to points north of Toronto, since it’s a long way down and then back up to the 401.
I simply preferred it because it’s a lot more scenic and a slower, more comfortable pace – perfect for a more leisurely day’s drive between the two cities.

Bringing Defender from South Africa to Canada
Hello Dom, I have been meaning to write and thank you for speaking with my
friend. I only expected him to ask a few questions and I apologize if the
conversation went long. I hope it was obvious he only wants to get his Land
Rover imported and has no interest in competing. I think he is trying to pull
together a trip to South Africa at some point this year. I am sure he will be in
touch if he makes the decision to bring it over. Thanks again for your help.

My new front bumper "Awesome"
Hi Dominic;
Just to let you know, the worst comment I got on my Disco's new nose was "awesome!". Huge difference with the new lights too. And a question, now the my field season is well and truly over, it is time to clean the truck.
What product is good for that suede-like covering on the dash?

that and the good prices. I will pass on any info I run across to you and to
potential buyers of your parts. I will be back in touch with you, as I do want
some spare everythings that are likelly to crap out with use or some abuse.
I do truly appreciate the e mail address, as well cause I had been next in line and got bumped ot of place though I responded but had made a solid offer and could not get any feed back or acknowlegement.
Learned from the buyer that
he scored the parts instead of me then got contacted the next day. ( business I
guess - ) Felt I could not move on till I either retracted or it was acknowleged
that the parts were for some reason sold to another rovering aquaintance. I
will check with you first - for anything that I need or want. Thanks a bunch.
putting your e mail in my Yahoo address book.

Hello,
You may posted, there is no rush. So far I don't
need anything else. But you are my first ebay choice.
Thank you
Paul
