Welcome to my page im Dominic Perodeau – for 11 years we built and operated Global British – Sending new & used parts to all corners of the ball of dirt and building and restoring many Land Rovers’ and other vehicles for a customer list of some 6700 people, kept a lot of local rural based people & small businesses employed such as welders, fabricators & paint shop’s, industrial fasteners & upholstery shops as well as the two full time staff and local Coop students at the high school that we would normally hire upon graduation, we helped secure the future for many a young trainee that are now on their own career paths as adults in the area.
All in all we restored or repaired over 104 vehicles – inc 33 hand built engines fully documented stage by stage on portfolio and shipped parts to exotic locations as Montevideo & Tel Aviv even to Dar El Salam – We assisted in local charity events such as the ‘Jail n Bail’ with the OPP for the Food Bank as well as sponsoring many Ottawa Valley Land Rover club events such as the ‘Fall Out’ & ‘Guy Fawkes’ party, and annual auction, even the local Madoc Demolition Derby –

We even had a contingent from New Jersey Land Rover club come and spend 3 days with us.
However all good things must come to an end and so we closed the facility and finished off the last of the hand built restorations, and am still going to be involved with Land Rovers but to a lesser degree supplying the trade only along with technical expertise & diagnostic’s however there is too much information contained within my head to let it be wasted so I intend to use this in an alternative career path going back to the Information Technology and database integration aspect of which is a lot more enjoyable than skinning knuckles.
So in closing with reflection at looking at literally thousands of photographs of builds and club events and many many happy faces of true enthusiasts choosing to come and spend time with us on many events that we put on for no profit whatsoever – to keep a business in a rural area for over 10 years is not a failure – It is an achievement and something that despite the regretful passage of events it is something that I will be proud of forever
